start by: a) remove front housing 1. Remove ring (1) from the thrower. 2. Install tooling (A) on thrower (2) as shown. Heat the thrower with a torch and pull on it with tool (A) to remove it from the crankshaft.Install Crankshaft Front Seal
Do not install an old thrower and ring on the crankshaft. Use new parts for replacement.
1. Heat the thrower to a temperature of 350°F (176°C). 2. Install the thrower on the crankshaft with tooling (A). 3. Install the thrower until dimension (X) is .920 .005 in. (23.37 0.13 mm). Dimension (X) is the distance from the front edge of the crankshaft to the front edge of the thrower as shown in the illustration. 4. Fasten tool (B) to the cylinder block as shown. Check the run out of the sides of the ring groove in the thrower. The total maximum run out must not be more than .006 in. (0.15 mm) as the crankshaft is turned. 5. Put clean engine oil on ring (1). Install the ring in the groove of the thrower with the opening in the ring at the top as shown.end by: a) install front housing
