PROBLEM
The 257-3938 Hydraulic Control Valve may fail only when using the auxilliary control. This failure may allow the vertical pins, that hold the work tool onto the machine, to become disengaged. This can allow the work tool to fall off the machine, which may result in personal injury or death.

This can allow the work tool to fall off the machine, which may result in personal injury or death. The machine should not be operated until a resolution is communicated. Please contact the dealer who will tag the steering wheel with a "Do Not Operate Tag". You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 05Jun2008 when scheduling this service.
