1U-5482     Pressure Adapter Group     1    The software program that will be used for this test procedure is the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET). The Caterpillar Electronic Technician is a software program that can be used on an IBM-compatible personal computer. Refer to the Service Manual, JEBD3003 for the requirements in order to install ET.
Open the software program (ET). Select the transmission ECM for the machine that is being calibrated.

Select the "Service" menu in order to begin the calibration procedure. Then select "Calibrations". A second menu will be displayed. Select "Transmission Clutch Engagement Pressure Calibration" from the second menu.

The next screen shows the components that have been selected for calibration. Select the "Begin" button when the desired components for calibration have been selected.

The next screen is the initial calibration screen. Once "Transmission Clutch Engagement Pressure Calibration" has been selected, the screen displays the instructions for calibration. The top display area displays status parameters that are monitored during the calibration. The middle display area displays information about the status of the calibration. The display area on the bottom will display the conditions for the setup and the display area on the bottom will also display the instructions for the calibration.
The display area will show the following conditions for the setup:
Warm the transmission oil to a minimum of 60 °C (140 °F).
Place the transmission direction and speed control lever in the NEUTRAL position.
Engage the parking brake.
Operate the engine at high idle.
Install the 1U-5481 Pressure Gauge on the clutch pressure tap for the clutch that is being calibrated. Select the "Next" button in order to indicate that the pressure gauge has been installed.
Press the "Next" button in order to start the calibration. If the conditions for the setup are not correct, the condition that is not correct will be displayed in the middle display area. Once the setup conditions are correct, place the transmission shift lever into the FORWARD position in order to begin the calibration. This will pressurize the clutch that is being calibrated.

While the calibration is running, adjust the clutch current until the pressure gauge is reading the same value as the desired pressure on the screen on the bottom area. When the desired pressure has been set, place the transmission shift lever into the NEUTRAL position.

A screen will appear with the status of each of the calibrations. Select the "Continue" button in order to calibrate additional clutches. Repeat steps 4 through 8 for each of the remaining clutches.
If the calibration was completed successfully, press the "Finish" button.
If the calibration needs to be restarted, press the "Restart" button.
