Test Preparation
All auto lube pumps are set to 2413 kPa (350 psi) working inlet hydraulic pressure with a flow rate of 9.5 L/min (2.5 US gpm) at the factory. Do not change the settings for the pump until after the start-up procedure has been completed.
Park on a level surface. If you must park on a grade, chock the machine.
Apply the service brake in order to stop the machine. Move the transmission control lever to the NEUTRAL position.
Move the speed control lever to the LOW IDLE position.
Engage the parking brake.
Lower all attachments to the ground.
Stop the engine.
Assemble tee assembly (C) and fitting (D) .

Disconnect hose (H) and fitting (G) from pressure reducing valve (F) . Install tee assembly (C) and fitting (D) into pressure reducing valve (F) . Attach tooling (A) to fitting (D) and hose (H) to tee assembly (C) . Set fitting (G) aside for reassembly.

Typical example of auto lube pump and reservoir (J) Plug
Remove plug (J) and install tooling (B) . Attach tooling (A) to tooling (B) .Test Procedure
Note: Pressure reducing valve (F) must be adjusted first to insure the desired pressure is achieved at the auto lube manifold. If the pressure is below the minimum specification, the auto lube system will not function properly.
Start the engine and run at LOW IDLE.
Stall the blade tip cylinder.
Use Cat ET to enable the auto lube system.
The pressure at pressure reducing valve (F) should be 3700 200 kPa (537 29 psi) for the 16M and 16M3 and 2600 200 kPa (377 29 psi) for the 24M.
Adjust pressure reducing valve (F) until the proper pressure is reached.
Adjust the pump pressure and flow to the desired application requirements. Refer to "Setting the Pump Manifold Pressure and Flow Controls". Note: Always use the lowest pump output pressure and hydraulic flow to obtain the desired results. Using the lowest pressure and flow will reduce pump wear.Setting the Pump Manifold Pressure and Flow Controls
Pressure Control Valve Adjustment
Note: The pressure control valve must be adjusted before the flow control valve to insure the desired flow setting is achieved.

Typical example of auto lube pump and reservoir (K) Pressure control valve (hydraulic) (M) Flow control valve (hydraulic)
With the hydraulic pressure applied, stop the pump by fully turning flow control valve (M) clockwise until closed and tighten the lock nut.
Loosen the lock nut on pressure control valve (K) by turning the nut counterclockwise.
Turn the valve stem counterclockwise until it reaches the stop. The valve stem will not come off. This is the minimum pressure setting, which is about 1172 kPa (170 psi).
With the pump stalled against pressure, turn the pressure control valve stem clockwise until the desired pressure is reached on tooling (A) . A pressure of 2413 kPa (350
