This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS5337" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Parts Stock
Remove all 1090390 and 1167553 Valve Guides from Parts Stock.
Affected Product
Replace all failed exhaust valves, guides, push tubes, and lifters, and any other damaged iron that might be collateral as necessary.
Replace all remaining exhaust valve guides. Use only new 1487502 Guides in this rework.
Do not attempt to ream guide holes to size per earlier TIB dated April 2, 1997 titled "Exhaust Valve Sticking Failures".

Submit one claim for all 1090390 and 1167553 Valve Guides removed from Parts Stock.
Affected Product
This is a 20-hour job.
Parts Disposition
TEPS/MEPS Dealers must return the affected part(s) to their Caterpillar dealer.
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
