Assemble the 263-7163 Insert Installation Tool (M36 Thread). See Illustration 9 through Illustration 11.

Apply an anti-seize compound to the stud and the drill washer in order to prevent the stud and the drill washer from locking to the insert.
Screw the 263-7164 Threaded Insert (M36 Thread) onto the stud.
Place the drill washer over the stud.
Screw the nut onto the stud.

Adjust the depth so the bottom of the stud is flush with the bottom of the insert. See Illustration 11.

Apply Sealant to the hole.

Screw the 263-7164 Threaded Insert (M36 Thread) into the tapped hole.

Torque the insert until the washer on the installation tool is flush with the surface.
Use a wrench to prevent the stud from turning and remove the nut.
Remove the drill washer.

Adjust the length of the drill bit in order to match the length of the locking pins that are supplied.Note: Locking pins are included with the 263-7144 Full Torque Thread Insert Kit (M36 Thread) and with the 263-7164 Threaded Insert (M36 Thread). Locking pins are not sold separately. Locking pins do not have a separate part number.
Place the tube of the drill or drill stop over a number 29 drill bit.
Place the end of the drill bit into a drill with at least 2000 rpm.
Place the drill washer and the locking pin over the end of the drill bit and adjust the drill so the length of the exposed drill bit is equal to the length of the drill washer and locking pin.

Place the drill washer onto the stud again.
Rotate the washer so that the hole is at the desired location.
Drill the locking pin hole to depth.

Rotate the washer by 180°.
Drill a second locking pin hole to depth.

Remove the washer and the stud from the insert.
Apply one drop of 263-7259 Sealant in each hole.

Insert the locking pins into the drilled holes.

Drive the locking pins so the locking pins are flush with the surface of the part.
Wipe any excess sealant off the surface.
Repeat Step 2 through Step 27 on the other damaged holes.
