Install plug (34) and the O-ring seal into pump body (33).

(X) equals 0.00 to 0.05 mm (0.000 to 0.002 inch).
Install shim (24) and bearing cone (23) onto shaft (38).
Install bearing cup (22) into head (19).
Install head (19) and bolts (18).
Rotate shaft (38) in order to seat the bearings. Tighten bolts (18) to a torque of 0.6 N m (5 lb in).
Take measurements at three equal intervals on the surface between head (19) and the housing. Use a feeler gauge to measure the gap between head (19) and the housing. The average of the three measurements should be Dimension (X).
Grind or replace shim (24) to achieve Dimension (X).
Remove bolts (18), head (19), bearing cone (23), and shim (24).

Install washer (31), spring (32), and pins (30) into barrel assembly (25).
Use a suitable press, Tooling (B), and a washer to install retaining ring (29) into barrel assembly (25).

Install bearing (28), plate (27), and pistons (26) onto barrel assembly (25).

Rotate Tooling (A) and install barrel assembly (25).
Install shim (24) that was determined in Step 17.

Apply Tooling (D) onto the back side of port plate (21). Install port plate (21) and O-ring seal (20) onto head (19).

Install head (19) and bolts (18). Tighten bolts (18) to a torque of 170 N m (125 lb ft).

Install O-ring seal (14), O-ring seal (15), thrust ring (16), and housing (17) into valve (4).
Install O-ring seal (7), O-ring seal (8), thrust ring (9), and housing (10) into valve (4).
Install O-ring seal (6), (12), plug (5), and (11).
Install gasket (13).

Install valve (4) and bolts (3). Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 11 2 N m (94 17 lb in).

Install O-ring seal (1) and coupler (2).
Remove the piston pump from Tooling (A) or suitable fixture.End By:
