Unplug the 2-pin plug for the ether bottle. Insert the 2-pin plug of the ether harness into the 2-pin receptacle of the 384-2332 Wiring Harness . Insert the 2-pin plug of the 384-2332 Wiring Harness into the 2-pin receptacle of the engine wiring harness.

Use cable straps (18) in the indicated locations to secure the wire harness.

Disconnect the 70 pin connector from the engine ECM. Remove the white plug from position 20. Insert the socket from 384-2332 Wiring Harness into position 20 and make sure that it is fully secured in the connector.
Reconnect the 70 pin connector to the engine ECM.

Remove the existing bolt and washer from location (J). Install ladder clip (17) by using the existing bolt and washer.
Install the mounts (19). Secure the wiring harness by using cable straps (18) as indicated in figure 18.
Insert the 2-pin plug of the 384-2332 Wiring Harness into the 2-pin receptacle of the solenoid of the engine cooling fan bypass valve.
Remove the vacuum from the hydraulic tank.
Reinstall the bottom guards and the engine enclosure doors.
Fill the hydraulic fluid, if necessary.Installing the New Software
This section applies to both Group 1 and Group 2 tractors.Note: Cat Electronic Technician (Cat ® ET) version "2012B" or later is required in order to configure the Engine Cooling Fan Bypass.
Before installing the software, make sure that the tractor is in proper operating condition.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
Connect a computer with Cat ET to the communication port in the cab.
Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
Download the Product Status Report.

Flash the 422-8381 Engine Ratings Electronic Software Gp or the most current software onto the tractor. The above error message may display when you attempt to flash the software.
Use Cat ET to navigate to the Configuration page for the engine ECM.

Change the "Fan Bypass" parameter to "Installed".
After the software is installed and the parameter is modified, disconnect Cat ET.
Cycle the ignition key and the battery disconnect.
Reconnect Cat ET and check to make sure that all software changes and configurations are saved.
Start the tractor and check for leaks and proper functionality of the Engine Cooling Fan Bypass attachment.Proper Functionality of the Engine Cooling Fan Bypass Attachment
In order for the fan bypass feature to become enabled, the hydraulic oil temperature must be greater than the temperatures listed in table 8.
