Lifting these canopied generator sets with a single point lift will result in a not level lift. The result will be the same whether the packaged generator set is fully enclosed or just skid mounted.Solution:
If the unit is in an application requiring frequent or continual relocation, counterweight can be added between the package frame rails. For complete information about adding the counterweight, contact EPG Customer Service at telephone number (765) 448-5732 with the package serial number and dealer contact information. Single Point Lifting Practice/Operation Guidelines for lifting eye maintenance should be added to the Operation and Maintenance Manuals for these packaged generator sets.The single point lifting eye is secured from the factory in a position so that you can see through the eye from the side of the enclosure when it is shipped. When the package gets lifted, the lifting eye may stretch. If the stretch is enough, the locking nuts holding the lifting eye may loosen. This could allow the lifting eye to swivel.
