(1) 363-7415 Hydraulic Tank
(2) 209-4476 Filler Cap
Slowly remove the Filler Cap (2) to relieve the tank pressure. Ensure all the tank pressure has been released before completely removing the filler cap.
Install the modified filler cap.
Attach the vacuum transducer to the modified filler cap.
Attach an air hose to the vacuum transducer.
Operate the transducer to create a vacuum in the hydraulic tank.
Install a drain pan below the hydraulic tank to catch any excess hydraulic oil.
Remove the 093-1323 Plug from the bottom of the hydraulic tank.
Quickly install the suction adapter assembly.
Attach the suction hose to the suction adapter assembly and the suction port of the filter cart.
Turn off the air supply to the vacuum transducer.
Remove the modified filler cap and the vacuum transducer.
Attach the discharge adapter assembly to the filter cart discharge hose.
Install the discharge adapter assembly in the hydraulic tank filler neck.
Refer to Step 9 for the remaining steps of the procedure.Portable Particle Analyzer Procedure
When using a portable particle analyzer for particle counting, be sure to read and understand the proper operating instructions.

(13) Fabricated suction tube
(14) 210-5530 Coupler
(15) S O S valve
Attach the fabricated particle counter "low pressure in" suction tube to the S O S valve (15) on the filter cart.Note: The fabricated suction tube (13) can be made with the parts listed in Table 3 and as shown in Illustration 15.
Attach the other end of the fabricated suction tube to the "low pressure in" port on the portable particle analyzer as called for in the Tool Operating Manual.Bottle Sampling Procedure
Illustration 16 g03319556
(15) S O S valve
(16) 169-8373 Bottle Group
If collecting a bottle sample, use the same S O S valve (15) and a 169-8373 Bottle Group (16). Refer to Illustration 16.
Record an oil sample from the S O S valve (15) on the filter cart at the beginning of the filter cycle.
Disconnect the filter cart suction hose. Disconnect the filter cart return hoses from the adapters.
Exercise the steering, propel, and vibratory systems for 2 minutes or 3 minutes.
Reconnect the filter cart suction and return hoses.
At the halfway point of filtering the machine, stop the procedure and change the machines filters.Note: Changing the machines hydraulic filters halfway through the filtering process avoids opening the filter housing after the system has been cleaned. If the filter housing is opened after the filtration process is complete, the filter housing will become an inlet for contamination. The new filters can remain in place until the next schedule filter change.Note: The machines filters only need replaced if scheduled to be replaced, or if the filters are not operating at optimal performance.
Operate the filter cart until the portable particle analyzer indicates that the oil has reached an ISO level of at least 18/15 or better. The final ISO code should be recorded before the machine is returned to the field.
When the target ISO level or time interval has been met, close the air supply valve (12) and disconnect the air supply hose (11). Refer to Illustration 9.Note: Refer to "Oil Compartment Filtration Times"
