Loosen the drain and allow moisture to drain into a suitable container. Drain the water separator until all moisture has been removed.2. Close the drain valve. Dispose of the moisture.Radiator
Clean or Replace Pressure Cap
The radiator cap is located and accessible on the top left side of the hood.1. Remove the coolant filler cap slowly in order to relieve any pressure.2. Inspect the cap for damage, deposits or foreign material. Clean the cap with a clean cloth. Replace the cap if necessary. 3. Inspect the plate inside the filler tube in order to determine the coolant level. The coolant should be level with the horizontal portion of the plate. Add coolant if necessary.4. Install the cap.Clean Outside of Radiator/Coolers
Unlatch and remove the grill screen and side panels.Compressed air, high pressure water or steam can be used to remove dust, leaves and general debris from a radiator and coolers. Clean as required by condition of radiator or coolers. The use of compressed air is preferred. Blow air from the fan side first, then clean debris from the front compartment. For additional cleaning, the oil cooler mounted to the front of the radiator can be removed by removing the mounting bolts on each side. The air conditioner condenser can be accessed by removing the bolts on the right side of the condenser and swinging it on the hinges mounted on the left side of the condenser. Do not disconnect the air conditioner lines or the oil lines if you remove the condenser and oil cooler. On the Challenger 85D, there is an additional oil cooler for the differential steering system located on the right side of the tractor behind the fan guard. Use pressure air from behind in order to clean the cooler.Refer to Know Your Cooling System, SEBD0518, for the complete procedure and instructions.Clean Grill Screen
Wipe the guard clean or use pressure air in order to clean the openings from the back side of the guard.Fuses
