Description of Change: The improved oil pump assembly utilizes a new design of the plunger in the pressure relief and the housing has been improved. This change increases the service life of the part.Adaptable To: The new 331-8905 Engine Oil Pump As is a direct replacement for the existing 210-5522 Engine Oil Pump As .The old 211-0546 Engine Oil Pump Gp that included the 221-0144 Gear As is no longer available from parts service. The idler gear is reusable if condition is acceptable. If replacements are needed, replacement 221-0144 Gear As must be ordered separately. Refer to the Reuse and Salvage Guidelines for the reusability of the part.The remanufactured 10R-1984 Engine Oil Pump As is still a valid number and the remanufactured part is made to the new 331-8905 Engine Oil Pump As specifications. A change in the level of the revision to the remanufactured part signifies the change in specifications.This change is effective for all engine serial numbers that are built after 20July 2009.
