Pressurized System!The air system contains hot oil under pressure and can cause serious burns, injury or death. Release the air system pressure in order to prevent burns from the sudden release of hot oil.Read and understand the information found in Operation and Maintenance Manual, "System Pressure Release" before performing any maintenance.
Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.
Park the machine on a level surface. Stop the engine.
Release the air system pressure and let the system cool before doing any work. See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "System Pressure Release".
Clean the top of the receiver tank thoroughly to keep dirt out of the receiver tank.
Loosen the flex tube connector then tag and remove the primary and secondary oil return tubes.
Remove the capscrews and lock washers that secure the cover.

Pry up on the cover to break the seal between the cover and the separator gasket.
Use the Boom to swing the cover to one side. Be sure that the edge of the cover rests on the flange of the tank for support.
Lift out the Primary and Secondary Separator Elements. Dispose of the elements according to local regulations.
Clean the surface of the receiver tank flange of any old gasket material, being careful not to let any material fall into the tank. Do the same with the underside of the cover.
Install new Primary and Secondary Separator Elements with bonded gaskets.Note: Ensure that the metal contacts embedded in the gasket are seated correctly and provide proper contact between the receiver tank and receiver tank cover.
Reinstall the cover and reinstall the capscrews and lock washers.
Tighten the capscrews evenly in a criss-cross pattern. Always tighten capscrews alternately at opposite sides of the cover.
Install the Primary and Secondary Oil Return tubes. Carefully push the tubes to the bottom of the separator, then lift slightly. Retighten the flex tube connectors.
Reconnect any connections removed and make sure that all connections are tight.
Start the engine and allow the oil to warm. Check for leaks. Stop the engine.
Check the oil level. If necessary, add oil.Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Air Compressor Oil Level - Check (High Pressure)".
