- 26 242-1811 Bolt Before assembly, lubricate the threads of the bolts and both sides of the washers with 4C-5593 Thread Lubricant.
Use the following procedure to tighten the bolts:
1. Torque bolt 1 through bolt 26 in a numerical sequence to 170 10 N m (125 7 lb ft) as shown in Illustration 1.
2. Torque again bolt 1 through bolt 26 in a numerical sequence to 170 10 N m (125 7 lb ft) as shown in Illustration 1.
3. Turn bolt 1 through bolt 26 in a numerical sequence to an extra 120 5 degrees as shown in Illustration 1.
4. Loosen bolt 1 through bolt 26 to 0 N.m (0 lb ft).
5. Torque bolt 1 through bolt 26 in a numerical sequence to 170 10 N m (125 7 lb ft) as shown in Illustration 1.
6. Torque again bolt 1 through bolt 26 in a numerical sequence to 170 10 N m (125 7 lb ft) as shown in Illustration 1.
7. Turn bolt 1 through bolt 26 in a numerical sequence to an extra 120 5 degrees as shown in Illustration 1.
8. Torque bolt 27 through 34 in a numerical sequence to 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft) as shown in Illustration 1.

Top gasket face of cylinder block, cylinder liners, and bottom gasket face of cylinder head must be free of oil, fuel, water, and other contaminants before assembly.

Installation depth (N) is 3.0 1.0 mm (0.12 0.04 inch).
Apply Loctite 11358 to the bores for the cup plugs prior to the installation.
