Illustration 1 g01182834In the pilot system, oil from the cushion-hitch pump flows to the pilot solenoid (1) and pressure reducing valve (2). The pilot solenoid and pressure reducing valve consists of a solenoid valve and a pressure reducing valve.The solenoid valve is controlled by the Transmission/Chassis ECM and controls oil flow from the cushion-hitch pump to the pilot system. The de-energized pilot solenoid blocks oil flow to the pilot system during engine start-up. While the engine is running, the solenoid is energized. This allows the oil to flow from the cushion-hitch pump to the pilot system.The pressure reducing valve regulates the pressure in the pilot system. The pressure is controlled by an internal spring.
