Install bearing (11) and gear (10) .

Use Tooling (D) to install retaining ring (9) onto axle shaft (6) .

Install Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to axle shaft (6) . The weight of Tooling (C) and axle shaft (6) is approximately 154 kg (340 lb). Install axle shaft (6) into the planetary carrier. Reposition the suitable lifting device from axle shaft (6) onto Tooling (C) , as shown.

Personal injury or death can occur from not following the proper procedure or the recommended tooling.To prevent the possibility of injury or death, follow the established procedure using the recommended tooling.
Install Tooling (B) onto planetary carrier (7) . Attach a suitable lifting device through Tooling (B) to sun gear (8) . The weight of sun gear (8) is approximately 73 kg (160 lb).Note: Keep off hands during installation of sun gear (8) .
Use a suitable pry bar to install sun gear (8) . Install sun gear (8) .
Remove Tooling (C) from axle shaft (6) . Install O-ring seal (5) .

Install thrust washer (3) . Install plate (4) .

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to cover (2) . The weight of cover (2) is approximately 104 kg (230 lb). Position cover (2) . Install Tooling (A) into the planetary carrier.
Install new bolts (1) . Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 145 30 N m (106 22 lb ft). Then, turn bolts (1) additionally by 60° 5°.
Fill the final drive and the differential with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Differential and Final Drive Oil - Change" for the correct filling procedure.
