BRACKET AS-LIFT 9R0336 - Caterpillar

Start By:
Remove the tire and rim. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim - Remove".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Remove plug (1). Drain the oil into a suitable container for storage or for disposal.

Remove plug (2). Drain the oil into a suitable container for storage or for disposal.

Remove bolts (3) .

Attach a suitable lifting device onto final drive (4). The weight of final drive (4) is approximately 41 kg (90 lb). Remove final drive (4) .

Remove O-ring seal (5) .

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove retaining ring (6). Remove sun gear (7).

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable chain, as shown.

Remove bolt (8). Use Tooling (C) in order to remove nut (9). Remove ring gear (10). Remove thrust disc (11) .

Remove bolts (12) and retaining plates (13). Remove hub (14) from ring gear (10) .

Use Tooling (D) and a suitable press in order to remove bearing cone (15) from hub (14) .

Use Tooling (E) in order to remove nut (16). Remove adjusting screw (17) .
