Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock.
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.

Raise hood (1) by activating switch (2). Turn battery disconnect switch (3) to the OFF position.

Remove panels (4).

Remove cap (5).

Loosen clamp (7). Remove clamp (7) and vent (6) and reposition out of the way.

Remove breather base (8).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove two studs (10) and the springs. Remove eight bolts (11) and the springs. Remove valve mechanism cover (9) and the seal.Installation Procedure
Install valve mechanism cover (9) in the reverse order of removal.

Tighten bolts (11) and studs (10) in the sequence that is shown in Illustration 8.
Tighten breather base (8) to a torque of 30.0 7.5 N m (22.13 5.53 lb ft).
Tighten clamp (7) to a torque of 8.5 1.0 N m (75.23 8.85 lb in).
