ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to SENR1500 (785C) or KENR8312 (785D).
Remove the front wheel. Retain the shim pack and bearings. Be careful not to damage the duo-cone seals and take care to keep them clean.
Remove the front brake.
Disassemble brake by performing Steps 1 through 16 in SENR1500 Service and Parking Brake (Front) - Disassemble (785C) or Steps 1 through 9 in KENR8312 Service and Parking Brake (Front) - Disassemble (785D).
Reassemble brake by performing Steps 27 through 40 in SENR1500 Service and Parking Brake (Front) - Assemble (785C) or Steps 20 through 26 in KENR8312 Service and Parking Brake (Front) - Assemble (785D).
Pressure check the brake. Remove the plug from the brake port marked "S" and connect to an external oil pressure source. Bleed the service piston of air until oil flows from the bleed port. Close the bleed port. Pressurize the "S" port to 4550 kPa (880 psi). Stroke the brake by releasing and applying this pressure several times. Hold this pressure in the brake and check for pressure decay. The pressure should not drop more than 140 kPa (20 psi) in 2 minutes time. Release pressure and open bleed screw. If the brake passes this test, it is ready for final assembly.
Reinstall the front brake.
Reinstall the front wheel. Before installing the bearing retainer plate bolts, use a 5/8"-11 tap in the threaded holes in the spindle to remove any residual Loctite. Install the original shim pack and retainer plate, using new 1D-4585 Bolts with Loctite 242 (blue).
