Start By:a. remove steering control unit (SCU)1. Be sure the outside of the steering control unit is thoroughly clean and free of dirt and debris prior to disassembly. Put an alignment mark down the entire length of the steering control unit for assembly purposes. There is a roll pin pressed into the bottom of screw (2). The roll pin prevents the check ball, located behind the screw assembly, from entering passage (1). Also, when six screws (3) and screw (2) are removed, the components of the gerotor assembly can be separated.2. Remove six screws (3) and screw (2), and remove the gerotor assembly. Gerotor housing (9) and gerotor (8) are not serviced separately.3. Remove cover (11) from gerotor housing (9).4. Remove spacer plate (4), drive shaft (5), spacer (6) and gerotor (8) from gerotor housing (9). Remove o-ring seals (7) and (10) from gerotor housing (9).5. Remove bushing (12) from the gerotor housing.6. Remove check ball (13) located behind bushing (12).
Do not bind spool and sleeve assembly (14) in the gerotor housing during removal. Slowly rotate the spool and sleeve assembly when removing it from the gerotor housing.
7. Remove spool and sleeve assembly (14) from the gerotor housing.8. Remove o-ring seal (15) from the gerotor housing.
Do not bind spool (16) in control sleeve (17) during removal. Slowly rotate
