Remove the recoil spring. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Recoil Spring-Remove" in the Service Manual for the proper procedure. Remove the recoil stop spacer pipe. Install the new, longer 231-0102 Pipe item (3). Install the new, stronger 231-0071 Recoil Spring item (1). Apply a preload to the spring on the cylinder assembly. Refer to the instructions Disassembly and Assembly Manual for the procedure in order to set the preload on the spring.

Fabricate Illustration 2 or order four 6S-6154 Gussets item (2) from 9 mm to 12 mm (0.375 inch to 0.5 inch) thick mild steel or a better steel plate. Remove the paint off the in
