Speed Control Circuit
The hydraulic function being adjusted will activate during the following procedure. The effected machine parts will move. Personal injury may occur.
Fluid Spillage ContainmentCare must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during the performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication NENG2500 Caterpillar Tools and Shop Product Guide, for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of fluids according to local regulations and mandates. Speed Control Adjustment Procedure:Loosen the locknut (1) on the adjustment screw and turn the adjustment screw (2) counterclockwise until resistance is felt. At this point there is no pressure on the main valve stem and the function being regulated will be completely neutralized. Completely activate the control of the circuit being adjusted. Turn the adjusting screw clockwise until the desired speed is reached. Tighten the adjusting screw locknut (1). Repeat the procedure for 3 and 4.
