BRAKE GP-FINAL DRIVE & PARKING 3A6722 - Caterpillar

Start by:a. Remove tire and rim assemblies.b. Remove drive axle shafts. 1. Fasten tooling (A) and a suitable hoist to final drive group (3). Mark position of guard (2). Remove sixteen bolts (1), guard (2) and final drive group (3). The weight of the final drive group is 190 kg (439 lb). 2. Remove O-ring seal (4) from the final drive group. The following steps are for the installation of the final drive group. 3. Put clean differential oil on O-ring seal (4) and install it on the final drive group. Fasten tooling (A) and a suitable hoist to final drive group (3). Put the final drive group in position on the axle housing. 4. Install sixteen bolts (1) and guard (2). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 270 25 N m (200 18 lb ft).End by:a. Install drive axle shafts.b. Install tire and rim assemblies.
