Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

If studs (6) were removed from exhaust manifold (1), apply 5P-3931 Anti-Seize Compound to the exhaust manifold side of the studs. Install studs (6) into the exhaust manifold. Install new gasket (5) for turbocharger (9) .
Install turbocharger (9) onto the engine. Install four nuts (19) that hold turbocharger (9) onto exhaust manifold (1). Tighten the four nuts to a torque of 44 N m (33 lb ft).
Lubricate the bearing housing of the turbocharger with clean engine oil.
Install new gasket (20). Install bolts (22) onto flanges (21) of the oil drain line. Install the oil drain line onto the turbocharger. Ensure that the bolts (22) and (24) for the flanges are tightened at the turbocharger and at the cylinder block. Do not connect the hoses for the oil drain line.
If adapter (10) was removed, apply 154-9731 Thread Lock Compound to the threads. Install adapter (10). Install oil supply line (7) to turbocharger (9). Tighten bolts (8) .
If studs (18) were removed, reinstall studs (18). Use a new gasket for exhaust elbow (4). Install exhaust elbow (4) on turbocharger (9) .
Install bracket (2) onto exhaust manifold (1). Install bracket (12). Tighten bolt (13) to nut (11). Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to bolt (14). Install bolt (14) and tighten to 52 N m (38 lb ft).
Install bolts (3) through bracket (2) onto exhaust elbow (4) .
Install a new gasket for exhaust elbow (4). Install the exhaust piping onto exhaust elbow (4) .
Install turbocharger cover (16) onto the turbocharger. Install springs (15) that hold turbocharger cover (16) .Note: Ensure that the actuator rod for the waste gate is free to move before tightening the straps of the turbocharger cover.Note: The turbocharger cover is constructed of fiberglass. Wear a mask when the turbocharger cover is installed.
Install the hose for the air cleaner.
Operate the engine. Ensure that there is a flow of lubricating oil from the oil drain line. Connect the hoses for the oil drain line and tighten hose clamps (23) .
