In order to read the diagnostic flash codes through the diagnostic lamp, cycle the key switch from off to on twice within 3 seconds.The codes will be flashing in sequence. For example if the flash code equals 133, the diagnostic lamp will flash once, pause, flash three times, pause, and flash three times.After the complete code has flashed, a 3 second pause will take place before the next code will begin to flash (if another code is present).Note: Always refer to the Troubleshooting guide for the latest information related to engine diagnostics and troubleshooting. There are additional regulations for emission-related diagnostic codes. When active, a code can be cleared by any of the following:
Initiating three drive cycles
400 hours of cumulative idle operation without tripping another fault
Through Cat ETNote: A drive cycle is defined as 5 minutes of engine run time with cumulative operation at greater than 15% load in a given key cycle. The drive cycle is not registered until engine is keyed off for 3 minutes, and then keyed back on. Run the engine at this condition and key off three separate times to clear any of the active emissions-related fault codes. Remember to wait 3 minutes before keying back on after each time you key off.
