The transmission control linkage must be adjusted if transmission control lever (4) comes in contact with guide (5) in any forward or reverse gear or in neutral. To move transmission control lever (4) to either side (right or left), adjust directional cable (9). To move transmission control lever (4) to the front or rear, adjust speed cable (8).1. For the cable that needs adjusted, remove bolts (11) that hold cover (10) to the housing.2. Loosen the locknut for the cable that needs to be adjusted and turn cover (10) as necessary to adjust control lever (4) so that it does not make contact with the guide in any forward or reverse gear or in neutral.Procedure To Adjust Neutral Start Switch
1. Engage the parking brake [lever (7) in position shown].2. Adjust switch (6) until the roller is just touching plate (1).3. Rotate switch another 3/4 turn (270°) plus the amount required to line roller up with plate (1). The neutral start switch may be adjusted with the 8S4627 Continuity Light or equivalent. With the continuity light across the switch terminals, adjust the switch until the light comes on, and continue until the roller lines up with the plate.
