Procedure
The following procedure must be used to adjust wheel bearings in the 135-7121, 141-0208, 159-0038, 180-5964, 190-1645 and 302-8163 Wheel and Final Drive Groups. This procedure must also be used properly to adjust 8X-0252, 107-3152, 133-4328, 125-6508, 0R-8287, 0R-8595 and 0R-9046 Wheel and Final Drive Groups. after the 135-2666 or 175-3769 Cone and 135-2667 or 175-3770 Cup have been retrofitted.
The former wheel bearing adjustment procedure cannot be used with the 135-2666 or 175-3769 Cone and 135-2667 or 175-3770 Cup. Improper adjustment or loose wheel bearings can affect the life of the wheel bearings.

Install retainer (2) using three retainer bolts (3). Install the retainer bolts in equally spaced hole positions (D), (E), and (F) as shown in Illustration 10.Note: Do not install and shims or the screen

View B-B. Retainer bolt location and tightening sequence (D), (E), and (F) . (2) Retainer plate
Tighten the retainer bolts in a clockwise sequence starting with (D), then (E), and finally (F). Tighten the retainer bolts to 200 N m (147 lb ft). Turn wheel two complete revolutions.
Tighten the retainer bolts a second time 200 N m (147 lb ft) using the same tightening sequence. Turn the wheel two complete revolutions.
Loosen the retaining bolts and complete the tightening sequence in reverse (F), (E), and (D). Loosen the retaining bolts by 360° (one revolution). Turn the wheel two complete revolutions.Note: A "pop" should be heard while rotating the wheel to indicate release of the load from the bearing.
Tighten the retainer bolts in a clockwise sequence (D), (E), and (F) to 105 N m (77 lb ft). Turn the wheel two complete revolutions.
Repeat Step 6 until no further movement of the retainer bolts occur when a torque of 105 N m (77 lb ft) is applied.

Detail C. (G) Thickness of retainer plate (H). Distance from top of retainer plate to top of spindle.
Determine dimension (H), the distance from the outside face of the retainer to the end of the spindle, using a depth micrometer. Take a measurement from two holes directly opposite each other and average the measurements.Note: If, there is more than 0.13 mm (0.005 inch) difference between the measurements DO NOT continue with the wheel bearing adjustment. Disassemble and check the wheel station (for example, the spindle housing, wheel assembly, and other related parts) for any interference that would prevent correct seating of the wheel bearings. Repeat steps 1 thru 8 until the measurements are within 0.13 mm (0.005 inch). When the measurements are within specification, record the average of the measurements.Note: In addition to the hole pattern in the retaining plate for
