1. Remove precleaner (1) and set aside for later use.2. Remove extension (2) and discard. Remove cleaner group (3) from plate (4) and discard. Save the gasket for use with the new cleaner group. Remove the internal filter element, if desired. The internal filter element may be used with the new air cleaner group.

(1) Precleaner. (2) Extension. (3) Cleaner Group. (4) Plate.3. Install the new cleaner group (3) on plate (4) using the gasket that was removed from the former cleaner group. If desired a new 9S1274 Gasket can be used. Cover the intake to prevent contaminants from entering the system. Step 4 is not necessary if the hood is replaced with a 1028599 Hood.4. Place extension (11) on the hood. Align the pipe of extension (11) with the intake pipe of cleaner group (12). Use the plate part of extension (11) to locate four holes on the hood. Drill the four holes to a diameter of 10.5 mm (.413 in).5. Install hose(5) on cleaner group (12) and secure the hose with clamp (7). Install extension (2) on hose (5) and secure the extension with clamp (6). Secure extension (2) with the bolts (8), washers (9) and plate (10).6. Install precleaner (1).
