BUCKET AR-MULTIPURPOSE 1118634 - Caterpillar

1. Start the engine and extend load cylinder (1) all the way. 2. Put tooling (A) under each side of the draft frame as shown. 3. Put tooling (B) under the tractor part of the machine as shown. 4. Disconnect rod assembly (2) from the centering and leveling valves of the cushion hitch control valve.
If both "H" links are removed at the same time, a separation of the tractor and scraper will be made. The load cylinder will be free to fall.
5. Remove and install the lower cushion hitch "H" link and bearing as follows:a. Remove five bolts (3) from each retainer (4) that holds the pins for the lower "H" link. b. Fasten a hoist to lower "H" link (6). Remove two pins (5) that hold it. If the pins are not free to move, lift or lower the tractor with tooling (B) until they are loose. Remove the "H" link and four washers (7). The weight of the "H" is 72 kg (160 lb.)
Do not disconnect lines or remove plugs in cushion hitch circuit until engine has been shut off for a minimum of five minutes, to let oil pressure in accumulator go down to zero.
c. Disconnect tube assembly (8) and hose assembly (9) from the load cylinder. Pull the bottom of the load cylinder out of the brackets on the cushion hitch. d. Use tooling (C) to remove the rear lower bearings from the cushion hitch. Fasten a hoist to tooling (C) as shown and remove the bearings. e. Install tooling (D) on the cushion hitch for removal of the front lower bearing. Fasten a hoist to tooling (D) and remove the bearings. f. Remove the four bearings from the lower "H" link with tooling (E). g. Make sure the bearing bores in the "H" links are clean and free of dirt. Install the four bearings in the "H" link with tooling (E). Install the bearings until they are even with the machine surfaces of the "H" link. h. Install the lower bearings in the rear of the cushion hitch with tooling (F). Install the bearings until they are even with the machined surfaces on the outside of the cushion hitch. j. Install the lower front bearings in the cushion hitch with tooling (F). Install the bearings until they are even with the machined surfaces on the outside of the cushion hitch. k. Fasten a hoist to "H" link (6) and put it in position in the cushion hitch. Install four washers (7). Install two pins (5) that hold the "H" link in position. l. Install four retainers (4) and the bolts that hold them. 6. Remove and install the upper cushion hit "H" links and bearings as follows:a. Remove the cushion hitch accumulator. See the topic Remove Cushion Hitch Accumulator.b. Remove the bolts and four retainers (10) that hold the pins fop the upper "H" link. c. Fasten a hoist to upper "H" link (11). Remove two pins (12) that hold the link.
