Personal injury can result from grease under high pressure. The adjuster cylinder for the track is under high hydraulic pressure. Grease under high pressure can cause injury. Do not visually inspect the adjuster to see if grease is released when the valve is opened. Check the rod to see that it moves to the rear into the front support on the track roller frame.
Do the following procedure to loosen the tracks.
Turn relief valve (2) counterclockwise in order to permit grease to be released from the track adjuster. Turn the relief valve once. If the track does not loosen, go to Step 2.b.
Turn fill valve (3) counterclockwise in order to permit grease to be released from the track adjuster. Turn the fill valve once. If the track does not loosen, start the machine. Move the machine forward and backward. If grease is not released, go to Step 2.c.
Install a piece of round bar stock between the bushing and sprocket inside the links. Move the machine to the rear so that the round bar stock will push up the track. This will put tension on the track and the track adjuster will move inward.

Move the track until the master link is in alignment with the centerline of rear idler (5). Put wood blocks under the grouser bar just below the master link.
Remove four bolts (6) and master shoe (4) .
Keep away from the front of the machine when the track is pushed off the final drive. A minimum distance of 7.6 m (25 ft) is needed in front of the track to permit the track to move out onto the floor.
Fasten a chain to the end of track (7) and to a wheel loader. Turn the final drive in a forward direction. Allow track (7) to fall forward while the wheel loader is moved forward.
Use Tool (A) in order to lift the side of the machine. Put Tooling (B) in position under the machine. Lower the machine on Tooling (B) .
Remove the track from the track roller frame. The weight of the track is approximately 680 kg (1500.0 lb).
