Change the Oil
1. Open the access door on the right side of the machine. 2. Remove the drain plug from hose (1) and allow the oil to drain.3. Clean and install the drain plug. 4. Remove breather (3).5. Fill the pump drive gearbox through the breather opening until the oil level is above the ADD mark on dipstick (2). See "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities."6. Clean the breather. See the following topic.7. Install the breather.8. Close the access door.Clean the Breather
1. Remove the breather from the gearbox.2. Wash the breather in clean nonflammable solvent.3. Allow the breather to dry, or use pressure air to dry.4. Install the breather.Conveyor Gearboxes
Change the Oil
Auger Gearbox
Drag Conveyor Gearbox Perform the following procedure on four conveyor gearboxes.1. Remove the drain plug and allow oil to drain.2. Clean and install the drain plug.3. Remove level check plug (1). Remove the fill plug.4. Fill the conveyor gearbox through the fill plug opening until the oil level is to the bottom of the check plug opening. See "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities."5. Clean and install the level check/fill plug.6. Install and secure the access covers.Track Gearboxes
Change the Oil
The track gearboxes are located at the rear of each track assembly.Perform the following procedure for both track gearboxes. The track gearboxes have three plugs. Position the gearboxes so one plug (1) is at the top and plug (3) is at the bottom when checking the oil level of each. The other plug (2) becomes the level check plug. 1. Remove drain plug (3) and allow oil to drain. Clean and install the drain plug.2. Remove level check plug (2).3. Fill the track gearbox through fill plug (1) opening until the oil level is to the bottom of the check plug opening. See "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities."4. Clean and install the level check and fill plugs.Hydraulic System
Change the Oil
Open the hydraulic oil tank access covers on the top of the machine. 1. Remove fill cap (1).2. Remove the cap from remote drain hose (2) located in front of the fuel tank on the left side of the machine. Allow the oil to drain.3. Clean and install the drain cap.4. Remove the tank cover (3) and discard the gasket.5. Replace the return filter element (4). See "Change the Return Filter Element" in this section.6. Inspect the inside of the hydraulic tank for contamination. If excessive contamination is found, the tank should be removed from the machine and cleaned.7. Clean the tank cover (3). Install the new gasket and cover (3).8. Change all other hydraulic filters.9. Fill the hydraulic oil tank. See "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities."10. Inspect the fill cap gasket. Replace the gasket if it is damaged.11. Install the oil fill cap. 12. Start and run the engine for a few minutes. Check for leaks.13. Stop the engine.14. Maintain the oil level
