Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the work tool from the host machine. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, GEBJ0066, "Crusher Attachment - Remove and Install".
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury.Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Ensure that the work tool is resting on a hard, level surface. Position the work tool, as shown. Place support blocks below the lower housing in order to support the work tool.

Remove four bolts and the washers that secure cover (1) to the upper housing. Remove the cover from the work tool.

Remove the six bolts and the washers that secure cover (2) to the work tool.
Put identification marks on all hoses for installation purposes. Plug all hoses in order to help prevent fluid loss and contamination of the fluid system.

Remove eight bolts, the washers, and four half flanges that secure the two hose assemblies (3) to rotary manifold (4). Remove the two O-ring seals from the hose assemblies.

Remove 16 bolts, the washers, and eight half flanges that secure four hose assemblies (5) to four blocks (6). Remove the O-ring seals from the hoses.

Remove the four bolts and the washers that secure two plates (7) to the lower housing. Remove the plates from the work tool.
Attach a lifting eye, an appropriate nylon lifting sling, and a hoist to one of the blocks. Remove four bolts (8) and the washers that secure rotary manifold (4) to the housing. Use the hoist to lift the rotary manifold from the work tool. The weight of the manifold is 40 kg (88 lb).
Remove the eight bolts and the washers that secure four blocks (6) to rotary manifold (4). Remove the four O-ring seals from the blocks.
