Note: Spacers (25) and (26) control the amount of rolling torque of the pinion shaft.
Use the following procedure to determine the correct rolling torque of the pinion shaft.
Temporarily install bolt (12). Tighten bolt (12) to a torque of 315 20 N m (230 15 lb ft).
Use bolt (12) to slowly turn the pinion shaft with a suitable torque wrench. Record the reading as the pinion shaft is being turned. The correct rolling torque of the pinion shaft must be 6.03 2.59 N m (53 23 lb in).
Remove bolt (12) and separate the pinion shaft from the swing drive housing. Change spacers (25) and (26), as required. Change spacers (25) and (26) in order to obtain the correct rolling torque of the pinion shaft.
Reinstall the pinion shaft in the swing drive housing. Apply Tooling (E) on the threads of bolt (12). Install bolt (12). Tighten bolt (12) to a torque of 315 20 N m (230 15 lb ft).
Install O-ring seal (13) in the swing drive housing.

Apply Tooling (H) on the mating surfaces of cage (15) and the swing drive housing.
Put cage (15) in the cage's original position on the swing drive housing. Apply Tooling (E) on the threads of bolts (14). Install bolts (14) and the washers that hold the cage to the swing drive housing. Tighten bolts (14) to a torque of 33 3 N m (24 2 lb ft).

Install ring gear (4) on the swing drive housing in the ring gear's original position. It may be necessary to rotate the ring gear back and forth in order to engage the planetary gears in carrier assembly (17) with the ring gear.
Install retaining ring (11) on sun gear (10). Install sun gear (10) in the carrier assembly.

Use the following procedure to assemble carrier assembly (3) .
Apply clean SAE 30 oil on bearing (9). Install bearing (9) in planetary gear (7) .
Install spring pin (5) in the carrier and into the planetary shaft.
Install spring pin (5) until the spring pin is just below the outside surface of the carrier. Install spring pin (5) with the split in the spring pin toward the top or bottom of the carrier.

In order to keep the spring pin from falling out, make a stake mark on each side of the spring pin hole in the carrier. Each stake mark should be approximately 1.5 mm (.06 inch) from the spring pin hole.
Install the other two
