Illustration 2. Bar (1).1. Measure from the centerline of the first hole on the right end, 951.3 mm (37.50 in) (dimension A) to the left. Mark the bar and cut into two sections. (See Illustration 2). Break all sharp edges on bar (1).
Illustration 3. Bar (2).2. Bar (2) is made from the longer section by cutting both ends. Measure from the centerline of the first hole, 14.5 mm (.57 in) (dimension B) to the right and mark. At the opposite end, measure from the centerline of the next to last hole, 14.5 mm (.57 in) (dimension C) to the left and mark. Cut the bar at each mark. Break all sharp edges on bar (2). Bars (1) and (2) should each measure 964.2 mm (38.00 in) (dimension D) in length.

This procedure can be done with the radiator in the machine.
Illustration 5.1. On the grill side of the radiator, remove folded core end brackets (3) and center strap assemblies (4). Keep all hardware.2. Assemble 7C2438 or modified 7W1986 Stiffener Bar (1) to the folded core modules, using the original hardware. Leave out the two end bolts temporarily. End brackets (3) that bolt the two end modules to the side channels require modification to use with the stiffener bar. The eight module radiator uses 9N5551 Brackets and the twelve module radiator uses 2W5330 Brackets.

Illustration 7. 2W5330 Bracket (3).3. Remove weld nut (5) that holds the module bolt (long leg of bracket) from each bracket.4. Position end brackets (3) on top of the end module center plates with the short leg of the bracket up.5. Install 8T2502 Bolt through the module center tab into the 1F0750 Nut (6) in the stiffener bar. The 8T2502 Bolt is 6 mm (.25 in) longer than the original bolt.
Illustration 8.6. Install the original bolt through the upper, existing slotted hole (7) in each side channel. (See Illustration 8). After all parts have been installed, adjust the modules to provide the standard 6.5 mm (.25 in) trash gaps and tighten all bolts in the assembly.
