Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to final drive and brake housing (4). The weight of final drive and brake housing (4) is approximately 218 kg (480 lb). Remove bolts (5). Use Tooling (A) and the suitable lifting device in order to remove final drive and brake housing (4) and the O-ring seal.

Remove sun gear shaft (6). Note: Sun gear shaft (6) may come off with the final drive and brake housing (4) or stay with the axle shaft when the final drive and brake housing (4) is removed.
Remove shim (7). Note: Shim (7) may be located on the end of the axle shaft or inside sun gear shaft (6).

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to axle housing (8). The weight of axle housing (8) is approximately 172 kg (380 lb). Remove bolts (9). Use Tooling (B) and the suitable lifting device in order to remove axle housing (8).

Remove O-ring seal (10) and bearing cup (11) from axle housing (8).

Remove shim (17).

Remove axle shaft (13).

Attach Tooling (C) and a suitable lifting device to differential (14). The weight of differential (14) is approximately 95 kg (210 lb). Use Tooling (C) and the suitable lifting device in order to remove differential (14).

Remove axle shaft (15). Remove thrust bearing (16).

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to differential housing (17). The weight of differential housing (17) is approximately 141 kg (310 lb). Remove bolts (18). Use Tooling (B) and suitable lifting device in order to remove differential housing (17).

Remove bearing cup (19) and O-ring seal (20).

Remove shim (21).

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to axle housing (22). The weight of axle housing (22) is approximately 172 kg (380 lb). Remove bolts (23). Use Tooling (B) and the suitable lifting device in order to remove axle housing (22). Installation Procedure
Install axle housings (22) and (8) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten bolts (23) to a torque of 390 39 N m (290 29 lb ft).
Tighten bolts (18) to a torque of 560 56 N m (415 41 lb ft).
Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 560 56 N m (415 41 lb ft).

Install shim (7) on top of the axle shaft in order for shim (7) to ride between the axle shaft and sun gear shaft (6).
Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 390 39 N m (290 29 lb ft).
