Information:

The air intake shutoff should be in the "closed" position prior to any work being done on it. Both the left and the right air intake shutoff are identical with reference to the removal and installation. Some of the pipes may appear slightly different than illustrated if the other shutoff is being removed.
1. Remove eight bolts (1) and two air intake pipes (2) and (3). The air intake shutoff can be removed without removing the pipes, however the difficulty is increased. 2. Disconnect line (4) in rear of air intake shutoff. Depending upon application, there may be more than one line to disconnect. If there is more than one line disconnect all lines to the air intake shutoff. 3. Remove four bolts (5) and remove Air Intake Shutoff (6) from the mounting bracket. Weight of the air intake shutoff is 9.9 kg (22 lb). Installation of the air intake shutoff is accomplished in the exact reverse order from removal.4. It is advisable to install all bolts and connect all pipes and tubes, but do not tighten any until proper alignment of all portions of the air intake shutoff has been attained.Disassemble And Assemble Air Intake Shutoff
Start By:a. remove air intake shutoff For clarity purposes, only one of the two air intake shutoffs will be disassembled and assembled. The procedural steps for both sides are identical.
If the air intake shutoff was not placed in the "CLOSED" position during removal it should be placed in the "CLOSED" position prior to any disassembly.
1. Remove three bolts (1) and remove cover and spring assembly (2). Note that there will be a slight amount of movement in cover (2) as the last bolt is removed. This is the remaining small amount of spring tension being released. Mark this position on the case and place the spring assembly back in the case at this point during assembly.2. Remove spring pin (3) from rod. 3. Remove plate (7), washers (6) and (5) and spring (4) from cover (2). 4. Examine bushing (8) closely. If necessary, replace. It will be necessary to destroy the old bushing to remove. 5. Make a small alignment mark on the side of the lever assembly (10) and the body of the air intake shutoff. This is necessary for reassembly. Remove two Allen head bolts (9) and the lever assembly (10). It may be necessary to rotate the lever assembly while removing. This is due to carbon buildup within the air intake shutoff. 6. Remove twelve Allen head bolts (11) from the housing and separate housing (12). If housing will not easily separate, it is due to carbon buildup and it may be necessary to pry in several places. 7. Remove plate assembly (13) from inside the housing. Completely clean the inside of the housing of all dirt and carbon. 8. Remove two plates (14), four springs (15), one rod (16) and one pin (17) in disassembling the plate assembly. Note the position of the two pins at the top of
