Connections of wheel lean right solenoidThis diagnostic code is associated with the wheel lean right solenoid. The FMI 05 is activated when the ECM detects a below normal current for the solenoid circuit.The Implement ECM provides a PWM signal to the solenoid in order to provide proportional control of the solenoid. The electrical current of the PWM signal is varied by the ECM, based on the input command that is received from the position sensor of the wheel lean control. The sensor is located in the assembly of the left joystick.The following conditions could cause this diagnostic code to be activated:
The energize circuit of the solenoid is open.
The return circuit of the solenoid is open.
The solenoid has failed.
The ECM has failed. This is unlikely. Before performing this procedure, inspect the harness connectors that are involved in the circuit. Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical circuit. Inspect the connections for the following:
Connections are clean.
Connections are secure.
Connections are in good condition. If a problem with a connection is found, correct the problem and verify that this diagnostic code is active before performing this procedure.Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Clear these diagnostic codes when the original diagnostic code has been corrected.Note: The resistance of the solenoid coil should be 8.7 0.4 ohms at 25 °C (77 °F).Test Step 1. CHECK THE SOLENOID
Disconnect the solenoid from the machine harness.
At the machine harness connector for the solenoid, place a jumper wire from contact 1 (wire U748-GY) to contact 2 (wire H862-GY).
Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.Note: Do not start the engine.
Observe the status of the CID 2174 FMI 05 diagnostic code.Expected Result:The active diagnostic code changes from an FMI 05 to an FMI 06 diagnostic code when the jumper wire is installed.Results:
