Introduction
The 9X-3402 Socket Terminal is a gold plated machined socket. This socket terminal must be used when mating to the pigtailed on the C-10, and C-12 crankshaft speed sensor or to the pigtailed on the C-15, C-16, and 3406E camshaft speed sensor.Only replace the existing speed sensor sockets on the engine harness. The existing 2-pin male DT connector will be reused. Installation Instructions
Before you remove the wires from the connector, make a note of the relationship between the color of the wire and the socket cavity number located at the back of the connector. Refer to Table 1.

Cut off the sockets from the engine wiring harness directly behind the sockets.
Install the 9X-3402 Socket Terminal by using the 1U-5804 Crimp Tool .
Install the wires with the new sockets into the correct connector cavities. Refer to Table 1.
Replace the existing integral engine speed sensor with the proper pigtailed engine speed sensor. Refer to Table 2.

Make sure you install the seal onto the 2-pin male DT connector. Connect the 2-pin male DT connector to the new sensor.
TIE-WRAP THE REPAIR TO THE BRAIDED PORTION ON THE ENGINE HARNESS. DO NOT TIE-WRAP THE CONNECTOR DIRECTLY TO THE ENGINE OR HARNESS CLIP.Note: Start the engine to ensure that the polarity of the connections is correct. Check the ECM for active diagnostic codes with an electronic service tool. If an active speed sensor diagnostic code is generated, or the engine will not start, the polarity of the repair is suspect. Be sure to clear all logged diagnostic codes from the ECM when you are finished with this repair. When you enter a warranty claim for this repair, claim the repair kit part number in the part causing failure field.
