At operating temperature, the engine cooling system is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap on the radiator is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
1. Drain the coolant from the engine into a suitable container. The capacity of the cooling system is 42 liters (11 U.S. gal).
Typical Example2. Support the engine with a chain and hoist through the lifting eye behind fan drive mounting group (1).3. Remove two front engine mount bolts and washers (3) and the upper half of engine mount assembly (4).4. Loosen, but do not remove, two rear engine mount bolts (2).
Typical Example5. Remove lower radiator hose (5).6. Remove engine bolts and washers (6), and remove front engine support (7) using two men or a hoist. The front engine support (7) weighs 45.1 kg (100 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the front engine mount.7.
