At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
2. Release the pressure in the cooling system by slowly loosening the filler cap on the radiator. Drain the coolant from the radiator into a suitable container for storage or disposal. The capacity of the cooling system is 73 liters (19.7 U.S. gal). 3. Loosen clamp (1), and disconnect hose (2) from the radiator top tank.4. Remove bolts (3) and the washers that hold the upper fan guards in position. Remove both upper fan guards (4).
Do not cause damage to the radiator core when the fan assembly is being removed or installed in the machine.
5. Remove bolts (5) and the washers that hold fan assembly (6) to the fan adapter. Using two persons, remove fan assembly (6) from the machine. The weight of the fan assembly is approximately 39 kg (85 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the fan assembly.6. Install the fan assembly in the reverse order of removal.7. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct filling procedure.
