Parking Brake
Move the lever forward to release the parking brake. Move the lever to the rear to engage the parking brake.Service Brake
Service Brake Pedal - Push down the service brake pedal to stop or to slow the machine, and to keep the engine from overspeeding on a downgrade.Front Brake (If Equipped)
Front/Rear Brake - Move the lever to the left and push down the service brake pedal. This will apply both front and rear brakes.Move the lever to the right and push down the service brake pedal. Only the rear brake will apply.
Do not use the front wheel brakes for retarding on long steep downgrades. Overheating may occur, causing reduced service life of the brake components.
Secondary Brake (Red Lever)
If the service brake pressure is lost, pull the lever down and hold to apply the secondary brake. Release the secondary brake lever. It will return to the OFF position. Hold the lever down until the machine stops.Retarder 777C
The retarder cannot be used as a parking brake.
Pull the retarder lever down to apply the rear brakes. Push the lever up to release the brakes. The control lever position determines the amount of braking. The further down the control is pulled, the greater the braking effort.Retarder (Trailing Unit Control) 776C
The photo shown is a typical example. Use the same procedure shown above, for the trailing unit control.Accelerator
The accelerator pedal controls the fuel flow to the engine. The further the pedal is pushed to the floor, the higher the rpm.Elevated Low Idle Control
This switch is used to activate the elevated low idle feature for the tucks engine. The switch is located in the operator's compartment, above the visor.
The elevated low idle feature is a part of the engines cold mode operation. When the engine's started, cold and the elevated low idle control switch is in the on position, the engine will accelerate to high idle (1300 rpm) until the engine oil reaches operating temperature. The operator can override the high idle seeting by depressing the switch and move it to the on position. When operating the machine, the elevated low idle switch should be in the on position.Transmission Selector Lever
The transmission selector lever controls the forward, neutral or reverse transmission speeds. Shift into reverse only with the machine stopped.Remote Engine Shutdown Switch (Normal shutdown is with key start switch)
Move the switch to the engine stop position, to stop the engine. After the engine stops, move the switch to the run position. Use in emergencies. The remote engine shutdown switch does not shut off the machine's electrical system. Before doing any work on the machine, turn the disconnect switch OFF. If the remote shutdown switch has been used to stop the engine, the key start switch must be returned to the off position before the engine will start.Tilt Steering
Pull the knob out and move the steering console to the position desired. The console has five adjustable positions and is spring loaded to return forward when the knob is pulled out.Supplemental Steering
In the AUTO position, the
