Position the water temperature regulator housing in order to ensure that housing (12) faces downward.
Remove the nuts and cover (13) from housing (12).

Remove gasket (16) and water temperature regulators (15) from housing (12).
Remove studs (14) from housing (12).

Remove lip seals (17) from housing (12). Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Coolant flow is balanced (fined tuned) by the placement of various size orifices in the cooling circuit. These are strategically placed to provide correct balance and flow. Do not change the position or the size of the orifices.

Use Tooling (A) in order to install lip seals (17) in housing (12). Ensure that the lips of the seals are facing downward.

Install studs (14) in housing (12). Tighten the studs to a torque of 30 5 N m (22 4 lb ft).
Install water temperature regulators (15) in housing (12).
Place gasket (16) in position on housing (12).

Place cover (13) in position on housing (12) and install the nuts that hold the cover in place.

Put the gasket and housing (11) in place on housing (12) and install the bolts that hold the housing in place.

Attach a suitable lifting device to water temperature regulator housing (8). The weight of water temperature regulator housing (8) is approximately 79 kg (174 lb). Place the water temperature regulator housing in position on fuel filter housing (9) and install the bolts.
Install the tube and flanges (7).
Install tube (10).

Install elbows (1) and (6).
Install tube assembly (2).
Place tube (5) in position in the water pump and the water temperature regulator housing.
Install the bolts and washers that hold tube (5) in place in the water pump.
Install bolts (4) and the washers.
Connect the coolant outlet to elbow (3).
Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change".
