MODIFICATIONS: The following modifications can be made to the former 1T920 Torque Converter Group.
... A 1T1409 Lube Modification Kit, which gives improved lubrication to the hydraulic pump drive splines, is available. Modification to the 1T909 Torque Converter Housing is necessary before the kit can be installed. Special Instruction Form SMHS7172 is sent with the 1T1409 Lube Modification Kit for installation.If the former 1T909 Converter Housing is damaged, order all of the parts shown in the chart that follows. This will also give all of the parts needed to improve the lubrication system.
If the former 1T909 Converter Housing is damaged, a new 1T1406 Cover and the parts needed for the lube conversion are the service replacement.
