Receiver Installation Procedure
1. Park the scraper on level ground.2. Move the ejector all the way forward.3. Remove the left fender (if so equipped), rear cover plate, and left tire and rim as a unit.4. Remove the brake lines and left caliper brake assembly.5. Mark the top and bottom location of the receiver. This makes it easier to get the new receiver in the correct location.6. Remove the receiver and wheel assembly.7. Remove the three bolts that hold the shaft in the receiver, and remove the shaft and wheel assembly from the receiver.8. Clean the mounting area for the receiver on the scraper.9. Remove the mounting bolts and clamps for the fuel tank drain line. Position the line so it will be out of the way when cutting and welding.10. Cover any exposed cylinder rods to prevent damage.11. Remove Plates 1, 2 and 3 from the inside of the scraper frame. These plates will be reused. See Illustration.12. Clean up the angles and the area on the frame from where they were removed.13. Enlarge the existing six holes in the frame for mounting the receiver to 16.75 mm (.656") diameter, and cut 3/4" - 10 threads.14. Bolt the new receiver in place and mark the location for the three remaining bolts. Remove the receiver.15. Drill clearance holes for 3/8" bolts at the marked locations.16. Bolt the three-2T2636 Plates in position on the inside of the frame.17. Weld each of the three plates in place with a 6.0 mm (.24") intermittent fillet weld (25°-120°).18. Remove the three bolts, and enlarge these holes to 16.75 mm (.656") diameter, and cut 3/4" - 10 threads.19. Put the 2T2592 Plate in position and weld as shown in the Illustration.20. Put Plates 1, 2 and 3 in position. Weld with a 6.0 mm (.24") intermittent fillet weld 75-150 mm (3.0-6.0").21. Put the fuel tank drain back in its correct position.22. Install the new receiver using the new bolts and washers. Tighten the bolts to 475 50 N m (350 40 lb ft).23. Put the shaft and wheel assembly in position and install the end plate and three bolts. Tighten the bolts to 200 25 N m (150 20 lb ft).24. Remove the cover and six bolts from the end of the wheel assembly. Protect the end of the shaft with a soft steel plate, and hit the plate to seat the axle in the receiver. Retighten the three bolts that hold the shaft in the receiver. Continue to do this until the bolts maintain torque after the plate on the end of the axle has been hit.25. Install the plate and six bolts on the wheel assembly.26. Install the brake assembly and brake lines. Bleed the air from the brakes and reset the brake oil pressure switch.27. Install the tire and rim, rear cover, and fender.28. Equalize the air pressure in the scraper tires and check the level of the scraper cutting edge. The dimensions for the height of the
