Personal injury or death can result from machine articulation or movement.Machine frames can move and a person can be crushed.Connect the steering frame lock link between the front and rear frames before working on machine.
Sudden movement or accidental starting of the machine can cause personal injury or death to persons on or near the machine.To prevent personal injury or death, perform the following:Park the machine on a smooth, level surface.Lower the work tool to the ground and engage the parking brake.Stop the engine and remove the key.Block the wheels and install the steering frame lock.

With the door closed measure the air gap between door proximity switch (1) and actuator (2). Refer to Table 1 for the measurement of the correct air gap.
Adjust as required.Configuration Procedure - Door Proximity Switch
The door proximity switch is configured when a new switch or actuator is installed. Refer to the following procedure to configure the door proximity switch.Note: The door proximity switch is limited to a maximum number of seven new actuator configurations.
With the door open, turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position. The green LED light will flash rapidly.
Close the door and the green LED light will flash slowly. The green LED will stop flashing after approximately 60 seconds.
Turn the battery isolator switch to the off position for 10 seconds.
Turn the battery isolator switch to the on position and check operation.Note: The door proximity switch can only be operated by the latest configured actuator.Test Procedure - Door Proximity Switch
Install the steering frame lock.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, , "Steering Frame Lock" for the machine being serviced.
Start the engine.
With the cab door open and the park brake switch applied, ensure that the following occur.
Steering is disabled
Transmission is neutralized
Implements are disabled
Start the engine. With the cab door closed, operate the engine at low idle and the park brake applied. Ensure that the following occur.
Steering disabled
Implements are disabled
Operate the engine at low idle, the park brake released, the transmission in gear and the service brake applied. Open the cab door and ensure that the following conditions occur.
The park brake applies
The transmission shifts in neutral
Steering is disabled
Implements are disabled
Operate the engine at low idle, the park brake released, and the service brake applied. Open the cab door and ensure that the park brake applies. Cycle the park brake switch to try to release the park brake. Ensure that the following conditions occur.
The park brake will not release
Steering is disabled
Implements are disabled
The transmission remains in neutral and will not select forward or reverse gears
With the park brake applied, operate the engine above 1500 RPM, open the cab door. Ensure that the following conditions occur.
The park brake remains applied and cannot be released
Implements are disabled
Steering is disabled
