Drain the engine oil into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil - Change".

Remove bolts (3).
Remove engine oil pan (2) and gasket (1).
If necessary, remove bolts (4) and remove engine oil pan (6) and gasket (5) from engine oil pan (2).

Remove bolts (7) and remove tube assembly (8). Remove the O-ring seal from the tube assembly.
Remove bolts (10) and remove the screen assembly and tube assembly (9). Remove the O-ring seal from the tube assembly.
Remove the bolts, spacer plate (11), and the gasket. Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Use new gaskets for installation. Do not reuse the gaskets.
Thoroughly clean the mating surface of the engine oil pan, the spacer plate, and the cylinder block.

Apply Tooling (A) to the joints between the cylinder block, the front housing, and the flywheel housing.
Apply Tooling (B) to Areas (W) on spacer plate (11). Position the gasket on spacer plate (11).
Apply Tooling (A) to Areas (X) on the gasket. Install the gasket, spacer plate (11), and the bolts. Install spacer plate (11) within 10 minutes of applying Tooling (A).
Install the O-ring seal on tube assembly (9). Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil and install tube assembly (9) in the engine oil pump. Install bolts (10).
Install the O-ring seal on tube assembly (8). Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil and install tube assembly (8) in the engine oil pump. Install bolts (7).

Install gasket (5) between engine oil pan (2) and engine oil pan (6). Install bolts (4). Tighten bolts (4) in a numerical sequence. Tighten bolts (4) again in a numerical sequence. Refer to Illustration 6. After assembling the engine oil pans, trim excess gasket (5) from the face of the engine oil pan.
Apply Tooling (A) to the joint area where engine oil pan (2) and engine oil pan (6) meet.
Apply Tooling (B) to Areas (Y) on engine oil pan (2). Install gasket (1) on engine oil pan (2).
Apply Tooling (A) to Areas (Z) on gasket (1). Install gasket (1), engine oil pan (2), and bolts (3). Install engine oil pan (2) within 10 minutes of applying Tooling (A).
Tighten bolts (3) in a numerical sequence to a torque of 40 5 N m (30 4 lb ft) according to Sequence (A) in Illustration 9. Tighten bolts (3) in a numerical sequence to a torque of 47 5 N m (35 4 lb ft) according to Sequence (B) in Illustration 9.
Fill the engine with engine oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil - Change".
