BUCKET & ADJUSTER GP 5284643 - Caterpillar

1. Remove the bolts and remove damper guard (1) from the engine. 2. Remove two bolts (3) and install two 1" - 14 NF guide bolts 11 in. long. Fasten a hoist to vibration damper (2) with tooling (A) and remove the remainder of bolts (3). Remove vibration damper (2) from the engine. The weight of the damper is 81 kg (180 lb.).3. If necessary, remove the bolts and remove the damper from the adapter. The weight of the damper is 52 kg (115 lb.) and the weight of the adapter is 29 kg (65 lb.).Install Crankshaft Vibration Damper
1. If the damper was removed from the adapter, put the damper on the adapter and install the bolts to hold the unit together. 2. Install two 1" - 14 NF guide bolts 11 in. long in the end of the crankshaft. Fasten a hoist to vibration damper (1) with tooling (A). Put the damper in position on the guide bolts and make sure the mark on the damper is in alignment with the mark on the end of the crankshaft. lnstall four of the bolts to hold the damper in position and remove tooling (A). Remove the guide bolts and install the remainder of the bolts. 3. Put damper guard (2) in position and install the bolts to hold it in position on the engine.
