B 1P-1859 Retaining Ring Pliers 1 Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Use Tooling (B) and install retaining ring (22) on shaft (21). Raise the temperature of ball bearing (23). Install ball bearing (23) on shaft (21). Use Tooling (B) and install retaining ring (24) on shaft (21).
Install shaft (21) in housing (7).
Use Tooling (A) and install retaining ring (28) in housing (7). Install lip seal (27) and washer (26) in housing (7). Use Tooling (A) and install retaining ring (25) in housing (7).

Install swashplate (20) in housing (7).

Possible injury can result when removing the retaining ring and spring.Spring force will be released when the retaining ring is removed.Be prepared to hold the cylinder assembly as the retaining ring is removed.
Use the following procedure to assemble the cylinder block assembly.
Install washer (18), spring (19), and washer (16) in cylinder block (11).
Position cylinder block (11) in a suitable press. Install a suitable drive plate on washer (16) and compress spring (19) until retaining ring (17) can be installed.

Install pins (12), retainer (13), thrust washer (15), and guide (14) in cylinder block (11).

Install pistons (9) and slipper retainer (10) in cylinder block (11).

Position cylinder block assembly (8) on the shaft and in housing (7).

Install needle bearing (5) in the end cap. Install pin (6), valve plate (3), and gasket (4) on the end cap.

Position end cap (2) on the housing and install bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 50 10 N m (37 7 lb ft). End By:
Install the piston motor (drag conveyor). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Piston Motor (Drag Conveyor) - Install".
