Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Open the access door on the right side of the cab platform.
Press breaker relief valve (1) in order to relieve the tank pressure.
Remove filter cover (2). Inspect the cover seal. Replace the seal, if necessary.
Remove the filter element. Properly dispose of the filter element.
Remove the filter screen. Wash the screen in a clean nonflammable solvent.
Install the filter screen and a new filter element.
Install filter cover (2). Close the access door.
Start the engine. Run the engine at low idle and check for leaks in the hydraulic system.

Maintain the hydraulic oil level above the "ADD COLD" mark in the sight gauge. If necessary, remove filler cap (3) and add oil.
Stop the engine.
