Information:

Start by:a. Remove drive axle shafts. 1. Remove two of the bolts that hold the final drive planet carrier to the wheel assembly. Install two 5/8 in - 11 NC guide bolts (1).2. Fasten tooling (A) and a suitable hoist to final drive planet carrier (2) as shown.3. Remove the remainder of the bolts that hold the final drive planet carrier to the wheel assembly.4. Install two 1/2 in - 13 NC forcing screws (3) in the final drive planet carrier. Tighten the forcing screws evenly and move final drive planet carrier (2) away from the wheel assembly.5. Remove the final drive planet carrier from the wheel assembly. The weight of the final drive planet carrier is 75 kg (165 lb).6. Remove the O-ring seal from the final drive planet carrier. 7. Remove spiral retaining ring (4) that fastens ring gear (5) to the hub assembly. Remove ring gear (5). The following steps are for the installation of the final drive planet carriers. 8. Put ring gear (5) in position on the hub assembly, and install spiral retaining ring (4).9. Install the O-ring seal in position on the final drive planet carrier. Install O-ring seal (6) in the wheel hub assembly. Put SAE 50 oil on the O-ring seal. 10. Install two 5/8 in - 11 NC guide bolts (1) in the wheel assembly.11. Fasten tooling (A) and a suitable hoist to final drive planet carrier (2) as shown. Place the final drive planet carrier in position on the wheel assembly and install the bolts and washers that hold the final drive planet carrier in position. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 270 25 N m (200 18 lb ft).End by:a. Install drive axle shafts.Disassemble & Assemble Final Drive Planet Carriers
Start by:a. Remove final drive planet carriers. 1. Remove three planetary shafts (1) and gears (2) from the final drive planet carrier. 2. Remove washers (3) and (4) from each side of gears (2).3. Remove two bearings (5) from gears (2).4. Inspect all components for damage, and make any replacements if necessary. The following steps are for the assembly of the final drive planet carrier.5. Install bearings (5) in gears (2). 6. Put gears (2) in position in the final drive planet carrier with the round washers (4) next to the gears. The square washers (3) are installed with the tabs away from gears (2).7. Install shafts (1) with the flat side of the shafts toward the outside of the final drive planet carrier as shown.End by:a. Install final drive planet carriers.
